The Environment Department of Lisbon’s City Council asked us to design a campaign to raise awareness on the protected trees. We decided to create a set of free postcards which would draw attention through the unusual. The language of celebrity magazine covers, and the pun VIT (very important tree)/ VI-TE (Saw You, in portuguese) of the logo of the supposed magazine were the basis of the campaign.

The pictures and the headlines portrayed well-known trees in funny situations: “Anonymous citizen confesses: Can’t live without her!” / “Naked: the Rosewood confesses!” / “Gingko: I feel naked” / “Palmtree denies rumours: I am still single and happy!” / “Oldest tree in Lisbon denies: I didn’t do any face lifting”

The campaign was thought to be too bold to go ahead.
